A small obsession

These are the Vanessa antiopa socks that I took out on Monday as my ferry knitting.

The yarn is Lochan from The Yarn Yard, a 50/50 blend of Merino and Tencel. One of my favourite yarns of all time. I think this was probably my final skein of Lochan and I shall miss it very much.

I should rightly put them away now for my next ferry trip but I can’t seem to stop knitting them. I love the way that the pattern, the yarn and the colour are all coming together so perfectly. You might almost think that they had been planned that way rather than it being a project put together in a highly scrambled manner and with little thought involved.

Vanessa antiopa is one of the patterns from Hunter Hammersen’s new book – The Knitter’s Curiosity Cabinet vol II. A really beautiful sock. From a truly gorgeous book.
