Knitty

Have you seen the new Knitty? Once again the patterns are IMO largely underwhelming but this issue is worthy of note if you turn to KnittySpin. Neauveau [sic] is a cowl designed to show off not one but a trio of funky handpsun yarns. Not only that, it includes a brief tutorial on spinning two of the yarn types.

  • Nymphalidea is a nice enough shawl, if you are up for using half of two yarns to make one. Make two and give one away? Rav numbers suggest that this one will be a runaway success.
  • There’s a sock pattern by our friend, Hunter aka Violently Domestic
  • I’m taken with the shortie cardigan pattern, spice trail… but it is not, I think  for my physique.

I think you may need your beer goggles on in order to admire the beer mitt!

Hunter is celebrating the issue of her Deflect sock by offering a discount on all of her published single patterns. Until Tuesday 17th you can get 50% off the price of any of them. See her blog for details. It is well worth noting that most of the patterns from Hunter’s e-books are available as single pattern purchases. An ideal opportunity to see for yourself just how well written and well presented her patterns are.
