The doily is finished. The knitting part, at least. I have elected to avoid the crochet hook and am doing a knitted picot cast-off instead. It’s slow work but should be done some time in the next couple of days.
It has been a while since I knitted a picot edge. When I sat down to work at it a memory came forward, of my first picot edging. It was on a little apricot coloured angel top that I made for my daughter, Vicky when she was a baby. It had a high waist, trimmed with guipure daisy lace. I can see it so clearly now – although it was 40 years ago!
