You know what? This is far too much like hard work!
Progress has been made. Mr L’s office is taking shape and he had his workstation up and functioning last night. It will be better with the addition of a faster router.
Today so far has been taken up with reorganising the server cupboard and getting my workstation functioning. I have just booted up and everything seems to be in order. I like my new desk space very much indeed, though there is not much of a view. The important thing is that my desk is much clearer now and with fewer trailing wires. I can get used to this. I even have a proper space for my waste basket – sheer luxury! Best of all? There is no glare on my monitor.
The whole place is a mess and we have stuff piled up in every room in the house. It feels rather dispiriting. In fact, I am in general more dispirited than anticipated. There have been a few disappointments along the way: the server facility has to remain in my new studio, as does the weather station console. “My” shelves from next door are staying in situ for railway stuff but the “railway” shelves are remaining in Mr L’s new office: upshot – no shelves for my studio!
Gill has some shelves for us to deploy for the business but I had anticipated these as providing extra storage space not as replacing lost facilities…
All in all, I have need to replan my room as everything in my head has been blown up along the way. Something radical is required.
Oh, well… I had better get back to work. (And do some cogitation!) Is it coffee time yet?
