There has been an outbreak of lace fever on the island. It appears to be worsening. Gill finished her Lysedug doily and immediately cast on for a Jesien cloth. Her fever is definitely developing. As for mine? Well, my copy of Schöne Spitzen arrived today and I immediately cast on for Hannelore, while contemplating a purchase of Kunststricken: Schöne alte Blütenmuster. A galloping case, I’d say.
I’m up to 136 stitches. It took a while but I do now seem to have ceased backwards progress 🙂
Interestingly, Hannelore is knitted as a table square by most people but the pattern declares it to be a cushion cover. I am considering making such an artefact. It’s the sewing that bothers me…
Knit & Natter was good yesterday – well-attended, with refreshments served from our new island café. We drummed up some more interest in our KAL and now have six knitters on board. The start date will be the next meeting of the K&N group, in two weeks’ time. I ordered some yarn from Yarn Undyed for the KAL. It arrived today and is very nice indeed.
