The kettle’s on

Just a reminder that it is that time of year again and we shall be at home to visitors next weekend for the first Sanday Soulka of the year.

Just one small change this time, we are not opening on Sunday as both Gill and Beth are taking a rare opportunity to go sail-about on the Varagen’s special outing .

So, if you are around and about the island on Friday or Saturday next, do pop in and visit us. We’ll be demonstrating spinning and its associated processes and the kettle will be on. There may even be cake. Fruit cake. Wensleydale too. Guaranteed entertainment from various cats,  dogs and chickens… or we’ll shut them up if you don’t care for their company.

Have a go at carding or spinning. Ask us any questions that you like. Bring your knitting problems for Beth’s diagnostic or surgical assistance – or bring your skeins to show them off. We’ll enjoy your company whatever you want from us.

Our official  Soulka hours on Friday and Saturday are 10:30 – 13:00 but don’t be afraid to knock outside of those hours. What’s the worst that could happen? We’re unlike to send you away with a flea in your ear!  Normal open hours of 14:00 – 16:00 still apply, of course.

The usual goods will be available for sale (knitting materials and knitting and spinning kits, niddy noddies etc.) and to order (wheels and looms), as appropriate. Knitting commissions taken etc. yada yada yada. You know the drill.

New this year in the studio – Beth has been busy transferring her photographs onto canvas and some examples may be prised from her sticky fingers for just a small consideration.

See you?
