Twist and Shout

It is entirely a measure of how busy and distracted I have been that I should have missed the publishing of the Spring edition of Twist Collective.  It dawned on me this morning that it must have been out for some time, so I took a look and was blown away by some of the pretty things there.

My particular favourite is the shawl/wrap pattern Castanea, by Michaela Moores. The pattern has circular and rectangular versions. Written for Fyberspates Scrumptious Lace, it was all I could do not to purchase both pattern and yarn immediately. I did manage to exert control however and recall the barely-started shawl in Scrumptious that was supposed to be headed to the show bench this year. I am well behind with all of my knitting. My hands are benefiting from the rest but I am hankering badly now and ready to pick up my needles again… this is a shame because…

… my, the spinning is going splendidly! I have ¼ of the Ashford sliver completed i.e. one of the singles for one of my skeins. I am anticipating having a full skein plied by the weekend. The stuff practically spins iytself. I love working with it.

Back to Twist – and a thought that Castanea would be gorgeous in cotton, for the table, yes? There are a number of patterns that I have marked as favourite  or queued (or both) but I’ll spare time now to mention just one other, this lovely cardigan/jacket: Lilium by Amy Herzog

I must get back to the UFO heap soon.
