Brrrrr!… is all I can say! The weather has finally decided that it’s December and we’re in the middle of a gale.
Before today’s gale, we had a beautiful couple of days, albeit very frosty yesterday.
Yesterday was also Knit and Natter. The day before I had been into Radio Orkney to ask them to announce it in their What’s On segment of the morning programme. I asked if they’d emphasise that Knit and Natter is not for an esoteric group of Super Knitters, it’s for anyone who wants to come along and Knit (crochet, needlework, whatever) and Natter. We had a couple of novice knitters along yesterday, one of whom has been a couple of times and has been encouraged to knit these fingerless mitts. A lovely easy knit which, whilst admittedly being knitted in the round, grows quickly and gives quick satisfaction to the new knitter. Having introduced our novice to Magic Loop the previous week, she was well away.
Now, I must away to cook the dinner before the winds really pick up and we risk a power cut.
