Where’s the wood?

The whole day has been spent in sorting, arranging and chucking out. I cleared one table off… and then promptly filled it again with more boxes from next door. I am beginning to wonder if the wood will ever appear from amongst the trees and have been reduced to asking Mr L, when he pops in, if he can see any progress being made.

Happily, he replies “yes.”

Also happily, he reports progress being made at his end of the house.

I get time off for good behaviour tomorrow – we have the bonus session to deliver for our Magic Socks course.

My back will be glad of the rest.

An order went in to Lakeland today (Mr L needed gas refills for his Sodastream) so I have invested in some vacuum bags. I shall squash the contents of my studio into good order if I have to! There is also a vegetable trolley on its way, intended to remove some clutter from my desk and store it tidily within reach.

I can’t wait until I can sit down here and report to the blog that the room transfer is complete. I shall be doing that immediately after I position the spinning wheels in their final homes. I am sad to report that despite the larger room, there is still no place for my loom. I may have to sell the 4-shaft. I refuse to part with the Knitters Loom however. It’s just too much fun to relinquish it.

Oh – we were talking last night about the potential for Bench-cam, permanently focused on my work bench. At the very least it would force me into tidy habits… What do you think? Would you like to see what I am up to? We’re definitely putting cams in on our workstations so that we can see each other during the day. Sad, sad geeks that we are.

Hang on in there. Tidying and rearranging is always horrible until it is done.
Looking forward to seeing pics of how it looks.
I’d hate bench-cam. Tidy habits are only necessary for visitors! An occasional still of where you are blogging from would be interesting, but not a live feed.

Well, there you have it, Liz. The intention is to have an Open Studio, with visitors popping in at any time. I rather thought Bench-cam would help to enforce a tidy habit and ensure that when we have callers, we are fit to be seen.

In that case, maybe you do need to have bench-cam. I imagine that once we get a proper vicarage I’ll need to keep my study available for visitors most of the time. At the moment, I work on the second floor of the house and don’t like to inflict two flights of stairs on visitors. In busy weeks, it is somewhat of a bombsite!
